Lepidolite is a lullaby stone, it's a form of silicate and super soft in mood and nature and measures in on the Mohs hardness scale at a low 2.5-3.5. Mined on the far-flung shores of heady Brazil, the chilly depths of Russia, the desert winds of California, Canada, Madagascar, and Afghanistan, Lepidolite is a cosmic connector, ever ready to forge bridges and bonds across the globe.
First discovered in the 19th century by Robert Bunsen and Gustav Kirchhoff, this stone was first named Lilalite after its soft radiant coloring but later was retitled Lepidolite from the Greek Lepidos. Lepidos in Greek translates to scale, a name that pays homage to the dragon-like texture of this dreamy high fantasy feeling stone.
