Vintage Australian Renown EPNS A1 Pierced Pedestal Bowl

A beautiful piece of Australian silverware history, this vintage Renown EPNS A1 pedestal bowl features an intricate pierced design finished with an elegant repeating scroll border.

Made by Australian silverware manufacturer Renown, a company with more than 70 years of history, Renown is known for individually crafted silverware and has produced trophies for some of the most prestigious horse races in Australia and New Zealand, including the Cox Plate, Breeders Crown and Inter Dominion.

The underside is clearly stamped:

The shallow pedestal form features an intricate geometric pierced pattern radiating from the centre, surrounded by a beautifully detailed scrolling rim. The raised pedestal gives the bowl an elegant profile while allowing the pierced design to really stand out.

Originally intended as decorative tableware, it also makes a gorgeous display piece for crystals, gemstones, jewellery, shells or other collected treasures.

I have personally used this bowl to display crystals, as shown in the photographs, and it looks particularly beautiful filled with colourful stones.
