From the cutlery drawer to your jewellery collection, these little faces were far too interesting to stay spoons.
I’ve transformed vintage Colombian sterling silver souvenir spoon handles, believed to date from the 1940s to the 1970s, into a distinctive pair of handmade earrings. Their expressive faces and elaborate headdresses give them plenty of personality.
Using liver of sulphur, I’ve darkened the recessed details and polished the raised surfaces to bring their features to life. My handmade 925 sterling silver shepherd hooks finish the pair, allowing the little faces to move freely as you wear them.
A little history, a little mischief and a new life as wearable treasure.
