Custom Queensland Pipe Opal Motherhood Pendant

This one of a kind pendant was handcrafted for Kat to represent motherhood and the connection she shares with her two children, who are both October babies.

The natural formation of this beautiful Queensland Pipe Opal became an important part of the design. The brilliant opal pipe represents Kat as the mother, connecting the two sections of ironstone that represent her children.

The 3.50ct opal was set horizontally in sterling silver with a fine bezel. Kat selected the celestial style texture used on the solid sterling silver backplate, adding another personal element to her finished pendant.

A hidden bail sits behind the upper section of the pendant, allowing the 45cm Italian sterling silver curb link chain to pass discreetly behind it. This keeps the front clean and allows the opal to remain the focus.

A meaningful custom commission designed and handcrafted especially for Kat in my Pomona studio.
